Work Station Assessments
Sitting all day, everyday can be just as problematic as lifting heavy objects. A sedentary lifestyle sitting in front of a computer terminal can often lead to pain in the back, the neck or down the arms. The National Health and Safety Regulations (1992) state that every employer should perform a suitable and efficient analysis of workstations to assess risks to which those persons using them are exposed.
The aim of performing a workstation assessment is to highlight any gap in knowledge that the user may have regarding safe postures and working practices, and to identify risk factors associated with work systems, the environment and equipment.
A written report will document in detail any action taken at the time of the assessment along with future
recommendations including equipment. The aim of the assessment is to reduce pain, improve productivity,
health and safety and well being in the workplace.
Manual Handling Training
Back pain and injury in the workplace are very common. Each year unsafe manual handling is to blame for 118 million
lost working days, reduced productivity costs of £5.1billion and significant cost to the human including pain, loss of
function and disability.
In order to comply with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations (1992) to prevent back injuries and maximise
safety, performance and well-being we can offer a bespoke manual handling training service including risk assessment, hazard identification, legislation, anatomy, principles of back care and practical training specific to the work you do.
